It is a city of contrasts: it is the former capital city of Germany and yet it feels like a village with its cobblestoned streets; it is both the historical birthplace of Beethoven and host to a yearly international Beethoven music festival; it was a Roman settlement and now the UN Headquarters for climate change.

The Conference

The international greeter conference is a chance to connect with international friends, to exchange ideas and to experience first-hand a new Greeter destination.

During the conference in Bonn, you will have the opportunity to:

• meet with fellow managers in Bonn University’s Electoral Palace, built in 1705
• walk the cobblestoned streets with a Bonn Greeter
• cruise down the Rhine river and see castle ruins and 19thC villas
• climb the Siebengebirge, Seven Hills to the Drachenfels castle ruins
• visit the federal guest house Hotel Petersberg and join the guest list which includes Chamberlain, Shah of Persia, Queen Elizabeth ll, Gorbachev, Mandela, Clinton….
• experience a musical concert as part of the yearly Beethoven Festival (optional at own cost)
• come as a guest and leave as a friend.

Conference Outline

Thursday evening: Official start of the conference with welcome reception & dinner.

Friday & Saturday: For managers: full days of workshops and discussions, including a general assembly and key note speaker. For companions: a selection of Greets. For all: evening program and dinner.

Sunday morning: Greets in the city, as well as farther afield to Hotel Petersberg and Drachenfels.

Optional: Wednesday or Sunday evening: Classical concert as part of the yearly Beethoven Festival. Information regarding concert and discounted prices coming soon.
