Bonn greeters
a very personal way of discovering Bonn.
Spend time with a local… just you and your and friends.
what is a greet?
A Greet involves a local person who volunteers their time to walk and share their love of Bonn with you. In contrast to an official city tour guide, Greeters show you the city from a local perspective, focusing on the little things that make Bonn home: a neighbourhood, a street corner, a local pub. You will be privy to personal stories, anecdotes and tips, for example, on where to get the best currywurst.

Our time with Matthias was worth every minute. He was friendly, patient and knowledgeable, and very well connected within the community. He told us some fascinating things about Bonn and Germany and tailored his tour perfectly to our interests. He was generous with his time and we saw a lot whilst we were with him. I highly recommend him and the Bonn Greeters service. Thank you.
I had the pleasure of being accompanied by Ursula. We started at the Beethoven Statue, walked by the Münster and the University, and ended with a warm cup of tea by the Old Town Hall. She shared with me the history, geography and local life in Bonn, and recommended where to visit in Bonn and Germany. I encourage everyone, especially international students like me, to engage with the Greeters network for a free and informative walk, and to connect with the kindest hosts of Bonn. I also wish Ursula and her family great health, happiness, and joy.
I had a wonderful time walking around Bonn with Helga. She was so informative, so warm and friendly and I really learnt a lot. It was a wonderful way to get to know the city and to get to know a new friend!
Through Gert’s greet, I learnt interesting histories about Bonn by details that I would never be able to find out on my own. This was a great experience.
